Who we are

What we collect

When you contact us. Our contact forms ask for your first and last name, phone number, email address, and a description of your situation. You choose what to put in that description. We also record which page of our website you sent the form from. We use this information to respond to you, to evaluate whether we can help, and to check for conflicts of interest.

Automatically, only if you accept analytics. If you accept analytics in our cookie banner, Google Analytics records which pages you view, your approximate location (city or region, which Google derives from your IP address), your browser and device type, and how you arrived at the site. If you decline, or if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, none of this is collected and no analytics script loads at all.

Cookies. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies beginning with _ga to recognize returning visits. We also set one cookie of our own, ca_consent, which records only your yes-or-no answer to the banner and expires after 180 days. Nothing else is stored on your device.

Who receives your information

• Web3Forms delivers contact-form messages to our inbox. Web3Forms states that it does not store form submissions and forwards them to the destination we specify. It keeps server logs that may contain personal information and states that it deletes those approximately every two months.
• Google provides our email service, where contact-form messages are kept. Google also provides analytics, only if you accept it, and the office map on some pages, which loads only if you click "Show map." Loading the map sends your IP address and browser information to Google. Our fonts are served from our own servers.
• Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website.
• Quo provides our phone and text-message service and stores call recordings, transcripts and messages on our behalf.
• Avvo and Super Lawyers are linked from rating badges on some pages. The badge images are hosted by us; those companies learn nothing unless you click through to them.
• Another attorney or law firm, if we refer your matter. We tell you if that happens and explain any fee arrangement in writing.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use chat trackers, session recording, or advertising pixels of any kind.

Calls and text messages

Calls. Calls to and from our office may be recorded and transcribed for quality assurance and to keep an accurate record of your inquiry. You will hear a notice before recording begins. Our phone service is provided by Quo, which stores recordings, transcripts and messages on our behalf. We keep them as part of our records of your inquiry and do not delete them on a schedule.

Text messages. If you give us your mobile number, we may text you about your inquiry or your matter. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. We do not sell or share your mobile number or text-messaging consent with third parties for their marketing.

Confidentiality of what you send

Please do not include confidential or sensitive details in a contact form before we have spoken with you. Submitting a form does not create an attorney-client relationship and does not mean we have agreed to represent you. Whether a particular communication is legally privileged depends on the circumstances, and this policy does not decide that question. We treat inquiries as confidential and do not disclose them outside the firm except as described in this policy or as the law requires.

How long we keep it

Messages sent through this website are kept in our email. We do not delete them on a schedule, because we rely on past inquiries to check for conflicts of interest before taking on new matters.

If you would like us to delete an inquiry, email [email protected]. We will delete the message. We will keep a brief record — your name, the date, the names of any other people involved, and the general type of matter — so that we can continue to check for conflicts of interest as our professional rules require. We will also keep anything we are required to preserve because of a pending or reasonably anticipated legal proceeding.

Client files are governed by our engagement agreement and by The Florida Bar's recordkeeping requirements, not by this policy.

Your choices

• Change your analytics choice at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page.
• Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends this signal, we honor it automatically and never show you the banner.
• Opt out of Google Analytics everywhere using Google's browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
• Ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing [email protected]. To ask us to delete it, see How long we keep it above.

Florida law

The Florida Digital Bill of Rights applies to businesses above a revenue threshold that this firm does not meet, so its controller obligations do not apply to us. We follow the practices described above regardless.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS. Contact-form messages are kept in email accounts protected by two-step verification, and access is limited to firm personnel who need it to respond to you or to check for conflicts. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you as Florida law requires. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top.
